This week, Memorial Hall Board members Joe Zuffante and David Hennessey announced a $44,000 grant from the George B. Henderson Foundation as Phase 1 in the project to restore the old Hall. The Board has joined in the effort with the Charlestown Preservation Society (CPS) and the Charlestown Historical Society to work on the project, and together are known as the Friends of Memorial Hall. Dave, who is President of CHS and  Vice President of CPS has been instrumental in helping Memorial Hall restore this wonderful Historic Charelestown buidling.

This past year CPS has made Memorial Hall a focus of our efforts. We provided funds for both the creation of the Friends of Memorial Hall and half of the cost of the technical assessment required as part of the Grant process.  We believe this is a first step of many to bring back a part of Charlestown’s history.
