Bunker Hill 250 is a collaboration of 36 organizations (and counting), government agencies, and elected officials planning a months-long series of over 70 events, exhibitions, and re-enactments celebrating the upcoming 250th anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 2025.

Special programming and events illuminating the untold stories of the battle and revolutionary neighborhood will build upon well-established Charlestown traditions that include the Bunker Hill Day Parade, family-oriented activities like the Block Party at the Training Field, the Edna Kelly’s Doll Carriage Parade, and Flag Day observances that include a public citizenship ceremony, and salutes to the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

Each of the community organizations are responsible for producing and promoting individual events and programming under the jointly created Bunker Hill 250 brand and Revolution Ignited festival that is marketed jointly through the shared website: www.BunkerHill250.org.

The Charlestown Preservation Society has taken a leadership role in the planning of many special events including the “Echoes of Charlestown,” “Life on the Battlefield” and “Sacrificing Home” exhibits and a special reenactment of “Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride” the night of April 18th, 2025. Revere’s journey will start at the Paul Revere House in the North End, travel to the Old North Church to light the lanterns, then across the harbor by rowboat to a borrowed horse in Charlestown and off toward Lexington. Just as it happened on the day 250 years ago.

Uniformed Patriots will burst into the local restaurants and residents will react to his calls of “the regulars are coming! Local taverns and restaurants will celebrate this important event with drink and food specials and cheer Paul Revere along the route.

Bunker Hill 250 will be made possible by the many volunteers in Charlestown that have worked for years producing the events that we all have come to know and love. We are inviting you to join our team to plan and create these special events. Please send us an email if you are interested in joining our team of volunteers – all expertise needed!
