Great news! the Boston Landmarks Commission (BLC) has accepted the petition for an Architectural Conservation District for a Charlestown Industrial District.

At the July 25th meeting of the BLC, Protect Historic Charlestown Chair, Eric Hill, presented a petition to the Commission to begin a process to establish a thematic Architectural Conservation District for important remaining industrial buildings near Sullivan Square and along Medford Street. If established, the Charlestown Industrial Architectural Conservation District (CIACD) would create an appointed Commission of neighborhood residents and stakeholders who would review proposed changes to properties within the established boundaries.
